Dr. Jessica Klabunde began her studies at the University of Evansville after receiving a scholarship for academic excellence in 2003. She continued her education at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England, where she developed a love for travel and adventure. Later, she attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science.
Dr. Klabunde graduated Magna Cum Laude from Chicago’s Illinois College of Optometry in May, 2011. During her time in optometry school, Dr. Klabunde particularly enjoyed participating in the visual screening process for Special Olympics Chicago athletes, and programs providing vision exams to Chicago Public Schools students.
As a member of a strong military family, she deeply values the opportunity to work with our nation’s active duty military members, veterans, and their families. She counts these experiences among her most inspiring.
In addition to her passion for her profession, Dr. Klabunde enjoys playing recreational softball, participating in various types of sporting activities and charity events, and spending time with her family. In keeping with her philosophy of helping others, she also volunteers through a local chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
